“Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; Deuteronomy 7:9

Welcome back to Coffee Hour! So glad you’re here. Grab your SOF and let’s get started.

There have been times in my life – and I’m sure I’m not alone in this -- that my situations appeared to be bigger than God and God seemed, well, confession time, smaller, and when that has happened I’ve had to take a hard look at my faith and where I have allowed it to go. Yes, I’ve apparently put my faith on a shelf and trusted in my own abilities only to find that I was feeding on my own self-pity and walking carelessly!

We must remember He is faithful even when we can be faith(less) and trust(less). His Word stands in every situation and forever! Psalm 37:3 says to those who... “Trust in the LORD, and do good, dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.” Here we find that even the cattle know where to dwell and feed upon the faithfulness of him who cares for them.
One major fact of faith is that God is glorified and honored when we place our complete faith…trust in Him alone. How we live our lives before God carries a clear message to Him concerning our “whole attitude” towards Him. When we trust God above all, we are telling Him in the midst of life’s horrible circumstances that we have no control over; He is the only One worthy of being relied upon. When we put Him first above everything else, we consider Him as valuable in this life; faith then enables us to acknowledge and embrace firmly who God has claimed Himself to be in His Word. Trusting Him places Him at first place in our lives.

We find one of many examples of faith coupled with trust where Abraham had to trust to see the faithfulness of God with his son Isaac, Genesis 22, so you see Abraham’s faith turned into trust, trust then turned into hope and hope, well hope turned into the confidence that ”HE WAS” already working on their behalf. By this, Abraham’s faith was deep-rooted. Can you imagine if we had that kind of faith when asked to do something that seemed so farfetched and out of our understanding? Proverbs 3: 5-8

When we place our complete faith in Him, we are acknowledging His infinite power compared to our human limitations. Moreover, having faith in God is to acknowledge God’s greatness, faithfulness, trustworthiness, and goodness. When we don’t seem to understand the ways of God in our circumstances, we must trust that in our faith in God can literally transform us into people that He can trust and count on to fulfill His perfect will for others.
Complete faith in God will empower us to behave in such a way just as if our best days are still ahead of us. When we strive to do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness, God is able to do what He’s more than willing to do on our behalf in ANY situation. Know this one thing: God operates in faith; it's His assurance to us! More trust = more faith which makes for a better life!

Make it a great weekend feeding on His faithfulness and remember, keep Him close to your heart!
